About ISME2017 Tokyo (Odiba)

The International Symposium on Marine Engineering (ISME) is a forum, an exhibition, and technical tours for experts, scholars and engineers in the marine engineering fields to discuss and exchange scientific and industrial knowledge. The symposium is to advance the development of marine engineering technology and its applications, and also discuss the future of marine engineering, focusing on the theme“Marine Engineering Technology friendly to Environment, effective to Energy Saving and robust to Economy Crisis”

The ISME are recently held at Harbin (China) in 2014, at Kobe (Japan) in 2011, in Busan (Korea) in 2009, at Tokyo/Funabori (Japan) in 2005. The 11th symposium (ISME2017 Tokyo/Odaiba) will be responsibility setup by the Japan Institute of Marine Engineering.

The 11th International Symposium on Marine Engineering will be held at Tokyo International Exchange Center (TIEC) in Tokyo/Odaiba, Japan from October 15(Sun) to 19(Thu), 2017. The location of TIEC gives it commanding views of the Odaiba district. We look forward to welcoming you at Odaiba-Tokyo. We hope that everyone who attends the meeting has a pleasant stay, mixing social and cultural enjoyments with old and new acquaintances, while becoming familiar with the latest advances in the challenging fields of marine engineering.


The symposium will discuss the progress and future of marine engineering, focusing on the theme:

Important Dates

There are 2 ways to submit a paper for ISME2017 Tokyo. One is an Abstract Reviewed paper that will be decided to publish only by an abstract reviewing. Another is a Full-paper Reviewed paper that will be peer-reviewed with a full-paper draft after an abstract acceptance. All papers will be issued as Extended Abstracts in conference USB, and accepted full-paper will be issued including in Journal of JIME.
